Torque Therapeutics is developing a new class of Deep-Primed™ T cell therapeutics to dramatically expand cell therapy cures for cancer. Our Translational Product Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated scientist to provide analytical leadership, subject matter expertise, and creative scientific thinking to solve complex problems in method development and product characterization across our Deep-Primed cell therapy platform. The successful candidate will work in a cross-functional and matrixed environment, collaborating closely with the Product and Cell Discovery, Pharmacology, Process Development, and External Manufacturing/QC teams to advance our programs to IND and through the clinic. Primary responsibilities will include overseeing novel method development, method optimization and characterization, and method transfer to third parties for qualification and execution in support of product release. Equally important will be leadership of internal analytical efforts in support of product characterization and process development activities, as well as support of regulatory filings. Experience in managing scientific staff, and a willingness to build a team are both important.
The ideal candidate will have a strong expertise in both analytical development and product/process characterization of protein, virus, or cellular therapy products, with demonstrated experience supporting early-stage CMC development of clinical products as well as an ability to interface with research teams. Deep experience with biochemical, immunological, analytical chemistry, and molecular biology methods is preferred, and familiarity with cell-based assays and flow cytometry is a plus. A hands-on, self-starting attitude and the ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment is a must, as is willingness to take on temporary assignments outside of the initial job description.
